It’s October, which means we’re quickly approaching the LAGERS’ Annual Meeting. The annual meeting is a great place to interface with LAGERS’ board and staff, learn more about your LAGERS' benefit and network with your fellow local government workers. Since we are so close, I wanted to share with you the three W’s for this year’s meeting.
This year's Annual Meeting was by all counts a success. We met with many members and employer representatives and talk secure retirement benefits and the importance of having a pension. We got to showcase our wonderful hard working public servants by rolling out our first Local Government Hero Award. Congratulations to Brent Mullin, Sikeston Department of Public Safety, for being this year's winner. Brent works with Sikeston's Bulldog Pantry which provides clothing, supplies and food to kids in the community. Congrats to all our nominees this year, and we look to honoring many more LAGERS members with this accolade for many years to come!
Every year, around this time, I’m always amazed by how quickly time has flown. This year, of course, was no different. In fact, it seems like time is going faster each and every year. Now that the kids are back in school, playoff baseball and football are quickly approaching, its that time of year where we begin ramping up for the LAGERS Annual Meeting.
